Re: Hello! Advice / help needed
Hi there It's probably far too late for this response but I just wondered if you've looked up 'atopy'? There's a triad of linked conditions - atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and asthma. Atopy would put some of your experience into context. I'm not sure of the relationship with the t...

Re: Eczema and food allergies
My son had skin prick and RAST tests done and has a number of 'true' allergies (independent of his eczema). I found the explanation on a local charity site - http://www.dermnetnz.org/dermatitis/atopic-causes.html - to be really helpful in understanding the links between eczema and allergies or eczem...

Re: I seem to make her worse!!!
Hi there - maybe you could: - use the same cleanser/soap she does - perhaps avoid using aftershave, cologne or spray on scent - be careful how widely you spray your deodorant - keep her skin as cool as poss with a fan in the room if it's summer - be careful with any laundry detergent you use for you...

Re: nwe mother ned help please
Two of my children had eczema within a couple of weeks after birth and both were solely breastfed at that point. Our specialist developed a plan to deal with eczema slightly differently depending on what state it was in - we had treatments to manage the eczema and slightly different ones to respond ...

Re: Flare up - why why why?
Flare ups are awful. I don't know if it would help you but I developed a system to help respond to my son's eczema in an effort to deal with the randomness of the flare ups (I'm a bit of a nerd). I categorised the flare ups into those that were related to: temperature, infection, dryness, environmen...

Re: Is this eczema? Frustrated
Sorry to hear about your son's misery! I might be a bit late in responding to this - if it were scabies odds are, others in the household would have been infected by now as it's quite contagious but can take up to a month and a half to appear. You can usually see the burrows of the mites but you usu...

Re: My son is tortured with eczema please help!
I'm so sorry - that brings back so many memories of our son doing the same. Re the eczema - we had a two part system built for us. We had care actions to take for 'active' eczema and different ones when it wasn't playing up. When it flared up we used: - moisturisers which was part of his daily regim...
