So sorry to hear about your situation. It is very unusual for your GP not to refer you if you are still in pain and he/she is unable to find the root cause and treat your condition. We would suggest you ask your GP again to refer you - alternatively ask to see a different GP in your surgery - perhap...

As you are taking medication for other health conditions, it would be sensible to go back to your doctor as they are likely to be able to give you the right advice. Some doctors have very helpful nurse-led clinics where you can get very practical advice.

You do need to go back and see our doctor if you are still experiencing problems. Alternatively you may want to consider making an appointment with a chiropractor who can take a closer look. Your son needs to see either his doctor or make an appointment with a physiotherapist. He will need a physical examination to ascertain the problem and how to treat it. Some people with swollen knees ice it regularly - a simple bag of peas from the freezer wrapped in a tea towel may help. There's so...

Taking mobile phones and tablets out of the bedroom can help some people. Also soft background music. And of course going to bed early and trying to rest before you try to sleep can help.
