Prevention Vs Cure
I was diagnosed with this five+ years ago and have had almost constant reoccurrences over that time. Sometimes it gets so bad that it actually feels like my skin is burnt and bleeds. Peeing is incredibly painful when it touches the skin. I use Bethamelasone when it flares up but should I be using it...

Thinning Skin
Hi, I’m a 59 year old woman with a variety of health problems (T2 diabetes/OA/MVD) and I have noticed more recently that the skin on my arms and hands, in particular, appears to be thinning. In addition the veins in my right arm have become very prominent on the back of my arm, standing out through ...

Lactose intolerance
What is the difference between an allergy and an intolerance?
I suspect I may have a problem with milk as I suffered from constant diarrhoea but since cutting dairy from my diet it has improved. How do I tell if this is a dairy allergy or just a lactose intolerance?

Sleep Talking
Several times a week, and on occasion several times in one night, I wake up talking in my sleep. I usually continue to talk in semi wakefulness and only stop when I am fully alert. It’s then extremely difficult to get back to sleep.
Is there anything I can do to stop the sleep talking?

Burning
Hi, for the past few months my urine has caused burning on my skin. I don’t have cistitis as it doesn’t burn to actually pass water and I don’t get sudden urgency to pee. I do, however, have stress incontinence so wear a Tena panty liner. The burning is after peeing and also causes itching. I’ve sta...

Recurrences of Lichen Sclerosus
I was diagnosed with LS about four years ago and after the first course of treatment it seemed to clear up. Sadly within twelve months it was back with a vengeance and despite several courses of treatment I can’t seem to get rid of it. Is it a life long condition once you get it with periods of remi...

Metformin and Diarrhoea
I’ve been taking Metformin for type 2 diabetes for over two years now and have had ongoing problems with diarrhoea since I started taking them. When I mentioned it to the diabetes nurse she just said yes, it’s one of the side effects. Should it have stopped by now as I’ve been taking them for so lon...
