Re: Ciclosporin
Has the specialist offered any other treatment options such as UV treatment or the option to use protopic instead of the steroids - particularly for the face area? Just interested to hear what your son's options are now?

Re: Ciclosporin
Hi, I rarely post on here but have been reading your posts with interest over the last few days. First of all I speak from experience as I have taken Cyclosporin, Azathiaprene and am currently taking Cellcept. Sometimes these drugs take a while to work and flow through your system. Although Cyclospo...

Re: methotrexate, cellcept, and xolair?
It is starting to work slowly. I am still having to apply the protopic on the worst areas on my face but I feel more comfortable than I have done in a while. The derm did say it might take a good few weeks to work properly, especially as I have had my facial eczema non stop for a long time. I reckon...

Outsiders,
I was just wondering how you were getting on with your cellcept. Is it starting to work?
Thanks Rich

Re: methotrexate, cellcept, and xolair?
I'm on the same dose as you. The derm said it could take a few weeks to start working so a week is probably too early. You might just have a bit of a cold anyway - it's often easy to blame every little thing on the medication you are taking. I'm three days in now and like yourself have not really no...

Re: methotrexate, cellcept, and xolair?
Outsiders, Just thought I'd update you with my situation after my latest dermatologist visit. Ironically after your last post I have decided to start taking Cellcept. My derm offered me the choice between this and Methotrexate which he said was generally more reliable. Despite this I thought Cellcep...

Re: methotrexate, cellcept, and xolair?
Hi, I'm in exactly the same situation as yourself. I've also been struggling with facial eczema for just over two years. I initially tried cyclosporin and although it was working I broke out in an allergic rash and had to be taken off it. This appears to be the immunosuppressant of choice amongst de...

Re: My facial eczema is dragging me down
Guys, I really need some advice, especially from people who suffer from facial excema. I've had this myself for nearly 2 years, constantly without any let up. Then only break I have is when I go on holiday somewhere sunny and the problem disappears for around 2 weeks and then returns the same as bef...

Re: My facial eczema is dragging me down
Hi, I was interested to read your message as I've been suffering from a similar problem for almost two years now. I'm 33. I've been to see two dermatologists, one reckoned I have seborrheic dermatitis and the other just straight dermatitis. The areas affected are my face, mainly forehead and central...

Re: My facial eczema is dragging me down
I currently use Protopic and feel like I am fighting a bit of a losing battle. I have dermatitis on my forehead and central face area. On a positive note it doesn't itch or ever get to the stage where the skin crack or uses, however I can never get full clearance of what is there. It is always prese...
