Re: Incontinence smell issues with pads & undies

If I'm honest I wouldn't recommend pads for night time use. As you move around during the night the pad came become scrunched up or move totally. making leaks very likely. I would suggest pull ups and a waterproof, washable bed pad. As for smell most pads, pull ups and all in ones (adult nappies) us...

Surgery

Hi all, At the moment I have total bladder loss, with no sensation. I am due to have spinal decompression surgery in the new year for a spinal stenosis. The Consultant has told me that it could leave me doubly incontinent. Does anyone have experience with this type of surgery and did you get any pro...

Re: Incontinence problem

Not at all, Until I had surgery at age 14 I was doubly incontinent, post surgery I was left with a weak bladder and urge. this caused me problems off and on until I was injured in the Falklands war and this led to more severe bladder problems. Since about 1999 and due to spinal problems and nerve da...

Re: Hygiene

Re: 13 year old daughter bed wets

Bed wetting (Nocturnal Enuresis) often runs in families, normally it will clear up on its own around the ages of 18-21, although relapses can occur because of stress or anxiety. See your doctor about this as there could be a medical problem (weak or small bladder), or she may be a heavy sleeper. I'm...

Hygiene

I have a total loss of bladder control due to a mix of spinal and nerve problems and recently have experienced some bowel problems as well. Currently, I shave my pubic area but as I'm diabetic this can be problematical especially if I cut myself. Is there some form of hair removal that can be done o...

Re: PVC / Plastic Pants

Hi Adam, yes waterproof pants can be a pain! The best I have found are made by Gary but only come in white and other colours. They have very wide elastic at the waist and legs and are extremely comfortable overnight as well as during the day, they also have forward facing legs which helps with the f...

Re: What is Gynecomastia Surgery?

Gynocomastia that is caused by hormonal changes in puberty will normally resolve itself without further treatment. Unless there is an underlying cause such as a low testosterone level no treatment will be needed. Sometime in later life and especially for obese men it may cause a problem but diet and...

Re: What are the symptoms of low-testosterone levels?

Depending on just how low your testosterone level is and depending on how long it has been low you may also develop a medical problem called gynecomastia ( https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/mens-health/what-is-gynaecomastia/ ). Which is where you develop breast tissue. Low testosterone is e...
