Re: My 5 top tips for eczema sufferers

Thanks Tom. It's amazing how making just a few small changes to my diet has improved things. It could also be because last week I was really stressed about a Uni exam and also my sister's relationship broke up so I was worried about her. It seems obvious now, but isn't it weird how our bodies behave...

Re: Eczema & elimination diet - any recipe ideas/advice, ple

I'm in no way an expert on this, but I did read that sweet potato is good because it contains less starch than ordinary potato. Squashes are meant to be good as they contain beta-carotene. Not sure about onions & garlic though. Good luck!

Re: Enough Is Enough!!

Lucy I really feel for you and your son. What age is he? It must be such an ordeal for you both. Having had relatively 'normal' skin up until the age of 36, and then suddenly being diagnosed with epilepsy, asthma and eczema all in the space of a few months left me a bit dumbfounded. I'd gone through...

Re: Do alternative medicines work?

Up until about nine months ago I was having acupuncture once a week to ease my eczema. It's gone completely from my hands and back (which was sometimes so painful I couldn't even lie down), but I still get it on my arms, legs and tummy. I found that acupuncture helped a lot with relaxation more than...

Re: Don't know what to do.

Hi tomgood It's interesting that diet is at the root of eczema. I've never got as far as sleeping in the bath, but I have spent endless sleepless nights with itchy legs and back. Sometimes my back would be so bad I couldn't even lie down. The worst thing though is facial eczema, as you can't cover i...

Re: Dermol Creams

Hi there I was just reading your posts and would also like to get involved in raising awareness for eczema sufferers. I've had it quite bad now for about 5 years (particularly on my face over the last 2 years) and have had enough. A bad flare-up last week led me to look for natural remedies on the i...

Re: Help please!

Hi Bekka I love your idea of a survey - it's about time eczema got more recognition as an illness. I can totally relate to many of the stories on here, having had eczema for 5 years. What people don't always understand is the psychological effect - I didn't go out of my house for a whole 5 days last...

Re: a weird an strange option but it has worked!!!

Hi Kerrie Wow! It sounds like I have had exactly the same kind of facial eczema as you - and there was me thinking I was the only one! I had a particularly bad flare-up last week, including big dry flaky patches around my mouth and chin, and sometimes the sides of my mouth would split and get sore. ...

Re: New to these boards (and to eczema)

Hi Kisara I'm new here as well. I hope you get some results with the patch tests. They are quite awkward - they stick these strips to your arms and back and no matter how much they irritate you can't take them off! I agree with AnnaB - sometimes air-conditioning can cause a flare up, but it's weird ...
