Vulval Lichen Planus maintenance?

I've had vulval lichen planus for 4/5 years. I've been following the dermatologist's advice of using Dermovate every day for a month, then twice a week for a month and repeat if necessary. This does clear the rash, but, within 3-4 weeks of being clear, back it comes again. I've seen the dermatologis...

Persistent vulval lichen planus - Dermovate use?

I'd like to ask a question about lichen planus, if that's all right. I've had vulval lichen planus for about 5 years and have twice been referred to the dermatologist - I'm 73. At the moment I'm following the dermatologist's advice and using Dermovate daily for a month, then twice a week for a month...

Does Vulval Lichen Planus clear up?

I've had vulval lichen planus for approximately 5 years with various flareups over that time. One of the practice nurses told me that this is a lifelong condition and it's a question of managing it, which I am doing quite well at the moment. Is this accurate? Does it never clear up?

Lichen Planus

I've had lichen planus of the vulva for approximately four years now - using Dermovate and Hydromol to try to keep things under control. I was initially told by the dermatologist that it may well burn itself out after two years, but, unfortunately not. Now one of my practice nurses has told me that ...

Can Lichen Planus develop into Lichen Sclerosus?

I've had Lichen Planus on my vulva for approximately 4 years and, after receiving treatment from an excellent dermatologist, am managing the condition. Since being discharged from the dermatologist's care I have had two flare-ups which I treated, successfully, with Dermovate. I only wash with Dermol...

What Could a Pain Management Clinic Offer Me?

I'm 72 and have osteoarthritis in my feet, knees, shoulders and hands, as well as bursitis in both hips and secondary fibromyalgia. I'm waiting to have a trapeziectomy operation which should help with my thumb pain at least. For pain, I take one paracetamol and one 8/500 co-codamol in the morning an...

Lichen Planus - Dermovate use

I was diagnosed with vulval Lichen Planus a year ago, after three years of symptoms. The dermatologist discharged me in May as all the inflammation had cleared after a regime of daily use of Dermovate for a month, then twice a week - and repeat. I use an emollient daily. After three weeks solely usi...

Skinoren and moisturiser. How to apply?

For the past few years, I've only used Skinoren as and when I get papules. However, I'm going to start using it more often, daily, as my cheeks are quite red and I'm getting the papules more often. I wondered about using moisturiser, as my skin is quite dry. Do I put the Skinoren on first and then t...

Ocular rosacea and using Skinoren intermittently?

I saw an ophthalmologist last week who diagnosed Blepharitis which has been caused by my Rosacea - so, Ocular Rosacea, I presume. The leaflet he has given me about lid hygiene talks about using mild baby shampoo, but my optician has already said to me that this is not recommended any more. After usi...
