Re: How to reduce weight at Home without Exercise

Losing weight is simple but not easy. You need to eat fewer calories than you use. That battle takes place in the grocery store and kitchen, not the gym.

Re: Stretchmark Remedy

Stretch mark remedies vary depending on the person. The younger you are, the more likely they are to work because you naturally remove them. I tend to scar more easily once I got into my 30s, for example. Also, many stretch mark remedies are meant to be preventive, such as during pregnancy. Once you...

Re: Pep talk needed for young (ish!) sufferer

Hopefully you have a loved ones or a close friend that can support you. That can make a world of difference. While trying to figure out how to manage your ezcema, don't forget about the rest of your life. Learn to be a fabulous cook or expert chess player. Juggle. Play piano. You don't have to be th...

Re: Recommended shower creams

I generally don't use soap and just wash with water. I also avoid all perfume/scented products. I can't take the risk with extra ingredients. I have seen a certain Dove bar soap be recommended as well by a doctor. There are newer "organic" products on sale all the time, but I would be care...

Re: 5 Year old with eczema - desperately in need help!

I don't know how well it's received around here, but the Aron Regime is meant for kids. It is a mix of steroid creams AND antibiotics. It's a bit controversial, as your opening up the whole can of worms for prolonged steroid use. Lots of parents swear by it, though.

Re: PRICE of new eczema drugs

A big issue for cost is health insurance policies. The US is going through a lot of uncertainty/turmoil at the moment. Pre-existing patients can get covered currently in the US, if I am not mistaken. However, I believe there is legislation to overturn that in the works... The price you feel depends ...

Re: Eczema and military service

Kind of ironic hearing that eczema is grounds for dismissal in Canada. I have some friends in Asia who have 1-2 years of mandatory military service. Despite how bad their eczema is, they are NOT excused from such service!

Re: Your best eczema remedies? What causes your flare ups?

Everyone has different triggers. Peanuts kill my skin, and no, it is not an allergy with hives or some other rapid and acute histamine response. Very bad mold/mites/dusty homes are also common triggers.
