Intense Itching

I am 59, was on HRT for 20 years due to having a total hysterectomy age 32 and came off it 6 years ago, which of course threw me into full on hot sweats, mood swings and the joys of the menopause (thankfully they have subsided now!). Anyway, before I was taken off HRT, I started with intense itching...

Virgin

My daughter is a virgin, something which I am extremely proud of, and has been told that she has to have a smear test. She is adamant that she doesn't want anything "up there" when she has never had sex and the surgery insist that she must sign a declaration stating her reasons for not hav...

Re: Difference between Psoriasis and Eczema

Eczema is not an autoimmune disease; psoriasis is. Eczema usually begins in childhood and is linked to allergies and asthma; psoriasis can begin at any time, is usually hereditary and flares up at times of stress or lowered immune system. Eczema varies in severity from slightly dry skin to full on o...

Pale Pink Patches

I have fair skin and auburn hair which burns fairly easily, but I do tan. As a child I remember vividly burning until I blistered and on a couple of occasions I had sunstroke. As an adult I hardly used sun protection, in the 90s I used baby oil! Which leads me to my problem; I'm not 58 and cover up ...

Sun Spots/skin cancer

I have several small, pink, circles on my skin, they started on my legs and I now have them everywhere. My daughter noticed one on my back which seems to get scaly every so often but when I get her to put moisturiser on it, it seems to stop. But in summer, when I have bare legs, they swell up and go...

Re: Milk spots around the eyes

Hello, I have lots of them, as far as I know they’re to do with high cholesterol as they’re fatty deposits.

Started at 49

Yes, that's when I started with anaphylaxis! I had always suffered with reactions, although as a child born in 1959, the "heatlumps and summer colds" I got every year were shrugged off as just an annoyance. It wasn't until I had my youngest and she suffered badly with anaphylaxis right fro...

Re: red, dry patches of skin

To me, it sounds like psoriasis or contact dermatitis, having had the latter and my partner has the former. Hope you get answers.

That's how old I was when I had my first experience of anaphylactic shock after eating kiwi at work. My lips itched, followed by swelling, when I awoke the following morning I was covered in hives and itching like mad. With steroids and antihistamine the swelling went but the hives stayed for three ...
