Skin tags

I am in my 60s. I have some small skin tags on my neck some of which I had removed a few years ago. The skin on my neck is quite bumpy. Some of them look like skin tags developing under the skin. This has extended to my chest too. I take good care of my skin making sure I exfoliate gently, moisturise...

Re: Acne Treatments Making Skin Worse

I really regret staying on antibiotics for a few years which didnt help my acne at all but gave me digestive problems. If I had my time over again I would stop the antibiotics and concentrate on using gentle skin products and addressing my general health. Unfortunately back in the 70s we didnt have ...

Re: acne struggle

I agree with misscandygirl. When I think back to how I used to treat my skin !!! Soap, harsh scrubs, cleansing brushes, sun lamps!! Please be kind to your skin. It's already inflamed so gentle is the way to go. Just use gentle cleansers. Salycylic acid is very good for acne prone skin too. Try and b...

Re: making myself get acne?? hear me out please

I can completely emphasise with you. I had severe acne in my teens and 20s. It cleared up when I got pregnant and then reappeared in my 30s. That was when I went on Roaccutane. My skin cleared only for it to return with the menopause. I had another shot at Roaccutane and luckily it did the trick. I ...

Re: acne

I tried all sorts over the years. The best book I have read on the subject is 'Healing Adult Acne' by Richard G Fried MD. I really wish I could have read this book when I was suffering with severe acne in my teens and 20s. It would have
helped me so much.

Re: adult acne

I suffered with severe acne for years. I still get the odd spot even though I'm 63. I find that lavendar oil is very good at calming the inflammation. I wish I'd known about it years ago.

Help!

I am 63 years old and have been clear of acne for years (except for the odd spot) after taking two coursed of Roaccutane. Recently I have developed one big spot after another. I haven't changed my diet or my skincare regime so I don't understand what is going on!! I am so afraid that this is the sta...

Antibiotics and sun lamps!

I've just read the article on here about the use of antibiotics in the treatment of acne. I was given these 40 years ago for my severe acne. We didn't know about antibiotic resistance then and the gp left me on them for a few years. I now have stomach problems which I put down to me having ME/CFS bu...

Re: PYSCHOLOGICAL IMPACT OF SKIN CONDITIONS RESEARCH

I am 61 years old and still suffering from the damaging psychological affects of having severe acne for years. Although my acne has cleared up (with Roaccutane) I am left with scars. I was left with a scar on my left cheek which I was advised (by a dermatologist) to have treated with a facial filler...

Re: How to beat acne

Although I agree that a healthy lifestyle helps with any medical condition, I take exception to those who seem to think its just a case of following the right diet, etc to cure this condition. I had acne for about 20 years from the age of 14 and yes, my diet and stressful lifestyle didn't help ( I w...
