Re: keratosis pilaris

It is unusual for Keratosis Pilaris (KP) to bleed and suggests over treatment or scratching. Simple emollients can soften the little bumps and ease discomfort or your GP can prescribe Aquadrate containing urea which does not contain any steroid or Alphaderm which also contains 1% hydrocortisone and ...

Re: Warts

Anything that does not behave as expected should raise the thought that the diagnosis may be wrong. Of course you may have had it accurately diagnosed in which case weekly abraiding with emery board or even sandpaper and then daily application of bazuka or similar will help but may take many weeks. ...

Re: white heads on face when on holiday

From your description it sounds as if you are getting some blockage of the pores in your skin which may be due to the increased sweating if in a hot environment and/or the use of a greasy sun screen. We strongly recommend using sun screens every two hours if exposed but their are some that work by r...

Re: Acne - daily care

Jasmine Probably one of the most popular cleansers is Cetaphil lotion which is available over the counter in pharmacies. It is important with acne not to use greasy products and the term "non-comedogenic" is worth looking for on any make-up. Benzoyl peroxide is the most commonly available ...

Re: Salicylic Acid 3% products?

Diprosalic is a prescription only combination potent steroid and salicylic acid preparation which is very useful. We have had great problems getting supplies of salicylic acid ointments recently. You have probably tried using cling film or similar as a patch (not around the feet) over a greasy emoll...

Re: psoriartic arthritis and rosacae

Rosacea can be a real nuisance but is not related to Psoriasis . I trust you are not using strong topical steroids on your face which can aggravate rosacea. Antibiotics in rosacea are only anti-inflammatory since there are are no bacteria implicated in rosacea Doses therefore can be lower than for a...

Re: guttate psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis?

Psoriasis can be associated with all types of arthritis (about 30% of sufferers) I am always reluctant to ascribe pain to hormones or just age especially at the young age of only 50, although it may play a part in general aches. Rheumatoid arthritis is characterised by hot swollen joints and it is l...

Re: Pilonidal sinus

I am afraid it does sound that you have a recurrence of the abscess. It is better dealt with while small so get it checked as soon as possible. If there is swelling and pain then you may need to attend an A&E department more urgently.
