Re: steroid cream use
Dear Hollie, Thank you. Dermatologists do not really think that steroid withdrawal exists. On adult body and limbs (but not face and skin folds) you can use Elocon daily for 3 months. But it is too potent for face and skin folds. It is also too strong for a child. I hope this is helpful. Best wishes...

Re: Wearing clothing
Thank you for your question. Try to use a mild soothing moisturiser e.g. Balneum Plus cream (keep it chilled- works faster!). Try mild steroid ointment for 2-3 days e.g. eumovate cream for an adult, hydrocortisone 1% for a child or baby. Try to wear loose cotton or silk clothes. I hope this is helpf...

Re: Paediatric Eczema
Dear Foxylady99, Thank you for your question. This true there is a lot of products! Generally ointment are more effective than creams and lotions but are greasier. Balneum plus cream is good for itching. Eczmol cream is very effective anti microbial cream. Here are some to try epaderm cream and oint...

Dear Emma, So sorry to hear about your skin problem! Humira sometimes can cause unusual rashes and it also suppresses the immune system. Perhaps you could ask your dermatologist or GP if it maybe useful to arrange a swab for cold sores (HSV) infection and scraping for fungal infection. Prophylactic ...

Re: Difference between eczema & psoriasis
Dear Penny, Thank you for your question. Psoriasis usually affects extensor surfaces of skin on elbows and knees (although it can affect any part of body and also scalp) and atopic eczema (most common type of eczema also known as atopic dermatitis ) usually affects skin folds e.g. inside of elbows, ...

Re: Treating guttate psoriasis
So sorry to hear about your psoriasis. The best way would be UVB phototherapy available through your dermatologist. You can also try Dovonex ointment twice a day or a coal tar preparation (e.g. Exorex lotion twice daily). Enstilar foam works even better but it contains a steroid and I noted that you...

Re: Can't get a diagnosis of an ongoing skin condition!
I am so sorry to hear about your thumb! From your picture and history it potentially can be a pustular psoriasis of hand. I understand your concerns about oral steroid tablets in the light of risk of coronavirus infection. You really need to be seen and treated by your dermatologist in person. Perha...
