Re: Persistent Eczema - solved?
Hi Kenny,
Hmm...sun is often worth a shot in many skin conditions.
In any case, I'm glad that you're doing well. Long may it continue!

Hi Kenny,
Glad to hear that your skin has improved! Out of interest, does your skin tend to improve in sunshine or on holiday?
Best wishes,
Sree

Re: Psoriasis for 3 years
Dear Marian, Thanks for posting. There are a number of products for the scalp - simple measures might include soaking the scalp in coconut oil to help lift off crust. Dovobet gel or Diprosalic scalp application are effective for the scalp. There is a relatively new product called Enstilar foam spray...

Re: Oily acne prone skin
Hi Amy, Thanks for posting. Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) is very effective at reducing the activity of the sebaceous glands - these are the glands which produce sebum, the oily substance that lubricates the skin. It is highly effective against acne but requires a prescription by a consultant dermatolog...

Re: Rosacea on nose-mainly
Hi Shell, Thanks for posting. Rosacea can be a very frustrating condition to treat. I think you have two forms of rosacea - the blood vessel type (erythrotelangiectatic) and spot type (papulopustular). Laser treatment (by someone who knows what they're doing) can be effective for the first type whil...

Re: Controlling acne flare-ups
Hello there,
Thanks for posting. Has she been given oral antibiotics from the GP? If she hasn't responded to tablet medication, we can consider her for isotretinoin (Roaccutane). This is a powerful anti-acne medication but can only be prescribed by a consultant dermatologist.
Good luck!

Re: Extreme Psoriasis on knees and elbows
Hello there, There are a variety of creams which can be used but they are only effective up to a point. When they are no longer keeping things in check, we often recommend escalating up the ladder to light treatment or tablets. You might find this information sheet helpful. https://www.bad.org.uk/li...

Re: Eumovate
Hi Felicity, Eumovate is classified as a moderately potent steroid and so should not be used for protracted periods on areas of thin skin. It might be okay in short bursts in this area - my own practice is to use calcineurin inhibitors (e.g. Protopic 0.1%) as they are steroid-free and generally suff...
