Re: Best moisturising bath and shower products for dry skin

Hi there, you are absolutely right - SLS dries out the skin by raising the normal pH of the skin. Avoid anything fragranced or foaming or soap based. Try an emollient based wash or an unfragranced oil. A number of the more medical moisturiser companies will do this or even the french pharmacy brands.

Re: Dry or dehydrated skin?

Take stock of your skin care. Are you using anything drying such as antiageing products, alcohol based toners etc. Use a hydrating, cream cleanser for sensitive skin and use a moisturiser for combination skin. The french pharmacy brands are good for this.

Re: Itchy clusters of tiny blisters on hands

This sounds like pompholyx, a type of hand eczema.

Avoid soaps and use an emollient based wash. Use a thick medical moisturiser ointment which is unfragranced. if these don't help, see your doctor for some steroid cream to help reduce inflammation and itching.

Re: Dry and chapped lips

Use an unfragranced product - some of the lanolin based products are good. Alternatively nipple cream made for nursing women can be very good for lips. If not better, see your doctor to discuss anti-inflammatory treatment

Re: Chapped lips

Lanolin based lip balms can be very good. Some of the nipple balms made for nursing women can also act as great lip balm.

Re: Dry skin patches on face

Make sure your skincare is gentle, hydrating and unfragranced. AVoid scrubs, alcohol based toners or hars washes. Switch up your moisturiser consistency if necessary and use products for sensitive skin. If this is no better, try some 1% hydrocortisone short term, but if you are having to use regular...

Re: Menopausal skin

We don't usually recommend individual brands. The principles of a skin care regime during menopause are to make sure you are using plenty of hydrating products, because we know the skin barrier weakens over time. Continue to protect with a daily sunscreen and then use a retinol-based product in the ...

Re: Dry skin on heels

Look for a heel balm with a high percentage of urea. If you chat to your pharmacist, they will recommend a product. BW

We don't usually recommend individual brands, but the french pharmacy products are great for this type of issue.

Re: Acne rosacea

I would try either topical ivermectin cream or azelaic acid. Chat to your doctor about these ingredients. Best wishes.
