Staying independent re food & drink...

Sue Jessica B on the other thread here http://www.talkhealthpartnership.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=490&t=4564 suggested I ask you about how to cope with my difficulties in doing basic stuff since my recent relapse (that's showing no signs of going away again). It was a bit of a shock to find that...

Re: Baselines (& pacing)

Thanks Jessica To be honest even if it is stuff I've already tried (and some of it isn't, so I'll be having a good think about what you've said), it's reassuring and comforting that I'm going in the right direction... Because it's quite terrifying to have a sudden relapse and not be able to physical...

Re: Activity management

The clinic's open all week OnlyMe. I think it takes time for them to read the questions and formulate replies.
I'd be worried if they were just throwing out replies every 30 seconds!

Re: Baselines (& pacing)

Lovely thanks Jessica. I should say that the GP is referring me to my local CFS/ME clinic (I've moved areas from London). But they're insisting on a full set of retests & their rediagnosis, and anyway it's 40 miles away, so in the meantime, as I can't get there, I feel I need pointers on how to ...

Re: medical supportand intervention

so does that mean we are entitled to more treatment than just the initial referral? I'm in the same boat as the OP (PACE trial, help during trial then nothing - they just signed me off and my then GP didn't even have the CFS/ME as an ongoing condition on the system because I'd been referrred and 'it...

Re: GET - useful or risky?

I was on the PACE trial at Kings, on CBT. But it didn't really work for me, so per the Trial terms, they offered me Pacing instead, but didn't have the staff, so we talked about GET but I was too scared to try it. They did send me a booklet on Graded Exercise, published by the NHS and written partly...

Re: Supplements

Supplementary question: I've just read Sue Luscombe's reply to a diet question. Where she posts a factsheet from BDA about diet & CFS/ME. In it, it mentions Vitamin D for people who don't go outside. I struggle to be outside (ie in the front doorway on a stool) for more than about 10mins a week,...

Re: Diet

Thanks for that Sue, I didn't know about the CFS/ME diet BDA thing you posted. I will have a look.
It's really reassuring to see you're putting so much effort into answering the question with proper backup to research etc.

Baselines (& pacing)

I've been diagnosed since 2007/08. I was on the PACE trial at Kings (randomised to CBT). We spent a lot of time trying to find a stable Baseline during that. But didn't really manage it. I've effectively been doing as gentle a form of 'boom & bust' ever since, because it's not physically possibl...

Supplements

There's a bewildering array of supplements that people seem to take. I used to take a multi-vitamin, zinc, echinacea, B6 and sometimes iron supplements. In over the counter type doses (not those enormous ones that people talk about). But I'm now taking Sertraline (anti-depressant) and I don't know w...
