Diagnosis by biopsy?
Hi, My question is….. I have been treated for VIN 2 & 3 with several excisions/biopsies/aldara. Initial biopsy showed no lichen sclerosis. In the last few months, symptoms have worsened and the gynaecologist thinks it is now lichen sclerosis. I have been treated for 3 months With clobetasol, wit...

Steroid and thinning of the vulva
I am undergoing a trial of the strong steroid ointment as my GP thinks I may have LS. My concern is that if it’s not LS and I am applying a strong steroid might this cause thinning of the vulva? Thank you.

Itching in public
How do I stop the itching in the pubic area and on the external lips? My LS is quite well controlled but the external itching is sending me mad.
Kind Regards

White patches and steroid cream
Q How many people have LS on the rest of the body?
Q If the skin has white patches but not scarred thicker skin in that area, will steroid ointment return the skin to normal state or are white patches too late once at that stage?
Many thanks and kind regards

Steroid cream spillages on to healthy tissues
I have had lichen sclerosis for ten years and have had structural changes as a result. Because of this, I’m getting steroid cream spillage onto healthy tissue making it sore.
Is there a way I can stop the changes and also how can I prevent the spillage causing soreness?
Thank you - Laura

Steroids / Estrogen / Supplements
Hello - please ask the following on my behalf Does using steroid and ointment slow down/ stop fusing/shrinkage of the vulva in the long term or is it inevitable? Can estrogen be prescribed for LS alone (I'm 37, diagnosed last year and can't get into remission. The private gynae I paid to see said I ...

Air pressure on LS
Can you tell me how pressure affects LS please. Does it make the condition worse or is it that it just makes things more uncomfortable? I would like to visit family and friends on the other side of the world but this involves two long haul and one short flight each way, plus travelling within the UK...

What is best pain relief?
What is the best pain relief for Vin3? My 93-year-old mother is struggling. She has been prescribed Gabapentin 4 times daily but after a few months she is still in pain, especially in the late afternoon, early evening. Surgery is not an option as she is frail. How can I ease her pain?
Thanks Denise

Discharged from Consultant after one review
Hi, I was diagnosed in September 2021. The gynaecologist told me that since I was unwilling to use steroids I would be reviewed in 6 months and then discharged. I still haven't been reviewed and my doctor contacted him months ago to ask for me to be reviewed. Is it normal or acceptable that I will b...
