Re: Painful moles
Moles can change during pregnancy but we would always recommend having them assessed by a GP/Dernatologist.

Re: How to monitor many moles?
Dear Patience1 I recommend my patients take a photograph of their moles as a reference to refer back to when keeping an eye on them. Re: Painful mole
Dear kelnat23 I would recommend that you see your GP or a dermatologist about this mole over the next week or so. Whilst I do not want to alarm you as sometimes moles that have been traumatised can be sore, moles that are changing in colour or painful should be assessed further by a GP or a Dermatol...

Re: Painful moles
Dear Jenny135
We would recommend that any moles or lesions that are changing;
- become asymmetrical
- have irregular borders
- change in colour
- increase in size
- become itchy, painful or start to crust
should be reviewed by a GP or dermatologist.
Best wishes

Re: Moles removed
Dear puskaa000 We generally do not recommend the removal of moles particularly on the face for cosmetic reason due to scars. Sun exposure plays a major role in determining how many moles we develop therefore good sun protection is important and an SPF 50 is generally recommended. The moles themselve...

Re: Prescribed cream
Efudix cream (5-fluoruracil) is an anti-cancer chemotherapy drug and works by directly destroying the sun-damaged skin cells. It is active against early forms of skin cancer and pre-cancerous skin changes. A brisk reaction is expected and we often see an intense redness with crusting. This is a good...
