Re: Anyone have a tomato allergy?

Dear Lewis Family14, It sounds as though your daughter would benefit from allergy testing. She sounds as though she is still allergic to eggs. The tomatoes often cause red, blotchy facial rashes in children with eczema due to their high natural histamine content and contact irritation as well. To re...

Re: Dairy allergy - alternatives to cows milk

I would advise that you seek advice from a paediatric allergy dietitian. There are many fortified alternatives available. Hasita (a paediatric allergy dietitian) has responded higher up the thread.

Re: transitioning onto cows milk..

Dear Tuppatea, That's great that your daughter has tolerated a malted milk biscuit. Your dietitian should have given you information about the milk ladder. If she had a delayed (non-IgE) allergy to milk, she can progress up the milk ladder. http://cowsmilkallergyguidelines.co.uk/downloads-and-resour...

Re: Eczema and food allergies

Eczema in children can sometimes be driven by food allergens as a "delayed" or "non-IgE" allergy. In these cases the child usually has the onset of eczema under 2 years old and it is difficult to control with emollients and steroids. The most common food triggers are milk, egg, w...

Re: unsure whats wrong

It would be sensible to go and see your GP to have your child reviewed. It could be a post viral cough which can be prolonged but it might be a symptoms of asthma and they may need to change inhalers. They can also assess whether there is any indication of aeroallergens causing the problem.

Re: Multiple allergies in 18 month old

Hello. I agree with Dr Ludman, you certainly should be seeking an allergy referral for your daughter. Children with multiple allergies such as hers which appear to be a mixture of delayed and immediate should be comprehensively assessed by a specialist in paediatric allergy with a specialist paediat...

Re: Hives

Hello. It is important to determine whether this was an allergic reaction by finding out the ingredients and requesting a referral for allergy testing / full allergy consultation from your GP. We do recommend administering anti-histamine if a mild allergy reaction is occurring because it can help pr...

Re: Food allergy

Thank you for your query. It sounds as though your child has multiple allergies and would benefit from being seen by a specialist allergy dietitian. There are many choices of milk substitutes and their suitability depends on many factors such as weight and growth, type of reactions and allergy testi...

Re: Nut allergy

Hello. Thank you for your query. If your daughter is eating the nuts that she tolerates on a regular basis (a couple of times a week) then we believe that this should help her maintain her tolerance to those nuts. There is no evidence that it will result in her being more likely to outgrow her other...
