Re: Harmful Excercise

Thanks for that Dr Miller. If the aim of CBT & GET is to find a sustainable middle ground - which I think is what you've said, then - why doesn't APT (Adaptive Pacing Technique) also work the same? Doesn't it aim to do the same thing? That's what I don't understand about the PACE results - becau...

Re: What are my odds?

I know we're not supposed to be answering questions etc, but it's really helpful to hear that some people can & do recover (against all the percentages). I'm not hoping either, though I like knowing there's a bit of blue sky. I have come to the conclusion that having been forced by circumstances...

Re: PIP

I know we're not supposed to be answering questions, but I've only just found out that it's not just Citizens Advice Bureau but also there should be a Benefits & Finance Advisor (who will have been part of the local council but probably now is part of social services under the NHS), who can help...

Why do we have to be expert patients?

I'm finding this clinic really useful. There's lots of things I didn't know or assumed it was just me. And lots of things I'm grateful I don't have! But what's really struck me on reading what people are saying, is how difficult it appears to be for people to get any help, never mind adequate help t...

Re: Air Hunger

Caroline Where can one go to find 'simple breathing exercises'? Who does one ask? I'm not a child and it's a new thing to me (definitely not anxiety related) but some days I'm really concious of an effort to breathe if I'm super tired. So if there's some I could find to do for myself, it might help?

Re: Why does GET work for some and not for others?

Picking up then from what you say Jessica (hopefully without sidetracking too much from the OP) that what patients are talking about in surveys as GET (apples) and what GET for ME/CFS actually is (pears) - can I ask what, if anything, is being done in terms of training/ retraining the therapists etc...

Re: GET - useful or risky?

Thanks for that Jessica. I'd already had a look at the PACE Trial documents - but it's over 100 pages long and a bit overwhelming and, as you recommend, I don't like the idea of having a go by myself. I did think about downloading the Adaptive Pacing Guide from the PACE website, but again it's over ...

Thanks for that.
I will go look at labels on what I've got, use them up, then follow your advice when I buy the next lot.
Much appreciated.

Re: Healthy ready meals?

I know we're not supposed to be answering questions from fellow CFS/ME people. But hopefully this will be taken in the spirit intended: would it be possible for part of the 20mins to be used to say chop up fresh veg etc & put sufficient ingredients in a slow cooker for several meals at once (one...
