Re: What to do next
Having a period every other month does suggest a mild hormone imbalance and irregula egg production. If thyroid test is normal then the most likely cause is a tendency towards polycystic ovarian syndrome, which varies hugely in presentation and severity. Weight loss often does help the hormonal imba...

Re: Endometriosis and hysterectomy
If the symptoms are under control, there would be no need to have a hysterectomy. Often endometriosis can reduce with pregnancy, contraceptive pill use or some other hormonal medications. No need to have major surgery if not necessary.

Re: Unusual discharge
A brownish discharge with Mirena is quite common, brown often means small amounts of blood which are not seen straight away and "old" blood turns brown. If your Mirena has been in place for 4 years, it may be starting to wear off and hence not controlling the bleeding from the womb lining ...

Re: weight loss & menopausal age
Weight gain around the time of the menopause is common and is due to changes in hormone levels and in the rate at which we burn off calories. With the estrogen deficiency of the menopause we also have changes in the way that our body handles glucose and insulin. There is some evidence that cutting d...
