Re: Menopause and Eczema

Hi there, Eczema is such a complex condition which fluctuates over the years. To be honest, for as many people who find hormones can affect it, there are a similar number who find no link. The bottom line is that it doesn't sound like your eczema is well controlled. You need to see a doctor to ensur...

Re: hyperreactive skin contact allergies

Hi there, It sounds like you had fairly extensive patch testing. If you are still reacting, although it could be a new contact allergy, a couple of other things spring to mind. 1) Irritancy - if you have very sensitive skin many products may irritate the skin, due to a slightly impaired skin barrier...

Re: Rash won't go away

Hi there,

It's really difficult to give an exact diagnosis without seeing the patch.

Given that it's been there for a few years, it would be worth discussing a referral to a dermatologist with your GP. They may then proceed to a skin biopsy if necessary.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Re: Skin tags

Hi there, True skin tags are most common in the creases eg neck, armpits etc. It's unusual to get multiple skin tags on the face, so it would be worth seeing a doctor to confirm the diagnosis. Some people are just prone to skin tags, but there are some associations such as pregnancy, being overweigh...

Re: Sun Spots/skin cancer

HI there, I would definitely advise you make an appointment with your GP for a full skin check and likely a referral to a dermatologist. These sound like actinic keratoses, which are areas of sun damaged skin cells. Sometimes the body will repair these by themselves, but in a few cases, these can go...

Re: Milk spots around the eyes

The likelihood if they are small white dots is that they are milia, small collections of a harmless skin substance keratin. These are very common around the eyes and can be extracted gently with a needle. An aesthetician or dermatologist could do this. Other causes could be Xanthelasma, which are mu...

Re: Ocular rosacea and using Skinoren intermittently?

HI there, In terms of the skin rosacea, yes, I would aim to use skinoren daily for at least 3 months to gain control. I don't think there is significant evidence that skinoren helps ocular rosacea. Make sure you are using only unfragranced, sensitive skin products around the eyes. Artificial tears c...

Re: Facial moisturiser that isn't greasy?

Hi there,
We don't tend to recommend individual products.
Look for a moisturiser which is non-comedogenic. Many of the senstive skin brands will have a few in this category.

Good luck!

Re: Vaginal rash

Sorry to hear this. Blisters shouldn't come on just due to sensitivity. has your GP tested for any infections? In the first instance, i would advise changing your dermol to emulsifying ointment, which is even gentler and can be used as a wash and a moisturiser. Apply it as a barrier, particularly wh...

Re: Lips

I'd advise a thick unfragranced lip balm, such as a lanolin containing one. Then consider speaking to your doctor about an antiinflammatory cream. Good luck!
