Re: Vaginal Dryness

It is very likely that this is due to menopausal lack of estrogen, which can have significant effects on the vagina and bladder. Using a regular vaginal moisturiser can help, but also worth considering the use of low dose vaginal estrogen. See https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/dryness.php and resou...

Recommend seeing your doctor. This may be related to your condition but should be checked.

Re: What should I be doing?

If you feel well, the patch suits you ok and there is no irregular bleeding, then nothing else would be required as a check up. Use of condoms reduces risk of Sexually Transmitted infections and could be used as well as contraceptive patch. You will be called for for a cervical smear at age of 25 wh...

Re: Complete prolapse

Procedures for prolapse are becoming very specialised. There are very effective procedures available, including pulling up the top of the vagina and fixing from inside your pelvic cavity. I believe that many regions are developing specialist referral pathways. Meanwhile please keep doing pelvic floo...

Re: Diagnosed with a cervical polyp

Polyps are common and very unlikely to be serious. They are often noticed at the time of having a smear taken. If small, we encourage them to be removed in primary care at the time that they are noticed. Please don't worry!

Some of this discomfort may be due to effect on bo...

Re: Perimenopause

The main way to diagnose perimenopause or menopause is by history of period pattern and possible menopausal symptoms. Blood tests can measure hormone levels, but are not recommended over the age of 45, since levels fluctuate significantly and are unhelpful in assessing stage and whether or not treat...

Re: Menopause

Periods are dependent on the function of our ovaries; if working normally, developing and then releasing an egg each month, we produce estrogen and progesterone which cause the womb lining to be thickened and then shed, shedding being the period (in the absence of pregnancy). As our egg cells become...

There is some evidence that estrogen deficiency can affect dental health. Certainly be guided by your dentist in the first instance,

Re: Feelings of tiredness and loss of physical feeling

I agree that tibolone may be helpful, but also any HRT would be worth considering. Separate testosterone in unlicensed form of gel would usually only be considered if HRT is unhelpful and testosterone implants are no longer generally available. Generally testosterone would not be used without HRT be...
