Exercise after a hysterectomy - advice please

I had a vaginal hysterectomy a couple of years ago and would like to know if using a cross trainer would be suitable exercise. Normally I do daily walking, & some hula hooping, but do not want to do anything unsuitable that could cause other organs to prolapse so would appreciate advise. Thank ...

Painful during sex post hysterectomy

From anonymous: I had cervical cancer in 1985 with a Wurtsheimers hysterectomy, followed by 6 weeks of radiation treatment. This damaged a lot of my insides. I have been unable to have sex because it is so painful. A couple of years ago a gynaecologist did an AUE and said it was a “car crash” in the...

Bed ulcers

Guest post TH member 'Hello - I'm not sure if this is the right place to get advice but my elderly mother, who is in a care home, has developed a bed ulcer on her heel. She does have mobility issues and will regularly spend days in her bed but she is cared for by the staff very well. I want to make ...

Deep line or crease on forehead

Guest post on behalf of TH member 'Over the last few years I've noticed that I have a permanent line (or crease) on my forehead which will not go away. It makes me look like I am always frowning and is getting me down. My friend said I can't get rid of it and should have had botox when I was in my 2...

Brown spots on face

Guest post on behalf of OR Sussex 'Can you help? I am in my thirties and have recently noticed brown patches on my forehead which are getting darker. I am pregnant with my first child at the moment and wondered if it was my hormones? If so, will these patches go away or can I get rid of them as they...

Adult acne

Guest post on behalf of FH Brighton 'Hi, I'm 34 and recently been told I have adult acne (doctor gave me diagnosis 2 months ago). Menopause & receding gums / gum disease

On behalf of Ann: I’m 52 and have no signs that I am going through the menopause other than I think I have gum disease. I’ve done some research and found that decreased levels of oestrogen can cause gum disease in menopausal women. I’ve made an appointment to see my dentist next week but would be in...

Early miscarriage

On behalf of Sarah: I'm in my early 30's and have become pregnant for the third time. I miscarried on my first 2 at 6 and 8 weeks and am obviously concerned that it will happen again. What is the likelihood of this and is there anything I can do to try and stop it from happening? Thank you for your ...

18 and short menstrual cycle

On behalf of Hayley:
My last two menstrual cycles have been very short, 21 and 18 days respectively. My normal cycle is 28 days and I bleed for 5 days. The length and heaviness of my periods has remained the same. I am a bit worried that this isn't normal. Do I need to see my GP about this?

Early Menopause & Bone Density

On behalf of Mary: I've gone through early menopause and other than night sweats didn't really suffer any other symptoms. I therefore haven't taken hrt and I'm now concerned that I might suffer with bone density problems in later life. Is this something I should be concerned about and is there anyth...
