Re: Psoriasis along hair line
Hi Destiny,
While it's not generally recommended, I've found that Dovobet gel can be used and massaged in. It is a bit oily but does the trick!
Best wishes,
Sree

Re: Skin issue
Hello there, Thanks for your message. Photos would be really helpful. I suspect that the colour is due to the amount of blood flow and oxygen content of the blood (which changes when you get hot or cold). It is most likely a manifestation of something called livedo reticularis. Hope that helps, Sree

Re: Please help me
Hello,
Thanks for the picture and the background. This is most likely acne and should respond to tablet medications. Have you seen your GP to discuss treatment and/or a referral to the hospital?
Best wishes,
Sree

Re: Unidentified Skin Condition
Hi Tan, My pleasure. Unfortunately, because the action is within the hair follicle (i.e. under the skin), lotions and topical treatments can be less successful than tablets. I would recommend oral itraconazole but I have also treated this issue with isotretinoin (in a gentleman who couldn't take itr...

Re: Forehead Acne - won't go away
Hi Cicero, Do you suffer from spots elsewhere on your face? This may actually be acne rosacea (rather than the classic acne vulgaris). Have you shown your GP? There's a variety of topical treatments available which should help. Alternatively, isotretinoin should be effective in switching this off on...

Re: Please help me treat my acne/scars, I'M DESPERATE AND I HAVE SEEN THE GP ALREADY TWICE
Hi Oliver, Thanks for posting your story and especially the photo. I can see that alongside the pitted scarring, you have active acne. It would make sense to switch off the acne before it develops into further scars. If you aren't happy with your consultation with your GP, it is quite reasonable to ...

Re: Unidentified Skin Condition
Hi Tan, Thanks for the pictures and for the excellent story - making the diagnosis is much easier when you've got such a good handle on the story! It looks like Pityrosporum (sometimes called Malassezia) folliculitis. I would tend to treat this with an oral medication called itraconazole. Hope that ...

Re: Acne Treatments Making Skin Worse
Hi all, Acne is a real nuisance but I enjoy treating it since we have effective medicines to settle most forms. There isn't a one-size fits all medicine (otherwise I'd be out of a job!). Picking the right medicine involves a detailed discussion between you, your GP and if needed a dermatologist. The...

Hi Maddie,
Do you know which epilepsy medicine you're on so I can have a look to see which acne medicines interact with it?
Best wishes,
Sreedhar

Re: dupixent
Hi Daz, Sorry for the delay in replying. Dupixent, or dupilumab, is a clever biologic injectable medicine that blocks two molecules, IL-4 and IL-13 which are thought to be involved in eczema. The British Association of Dermatologists have produced an information sheet which you might find helpful. h...
