Re: tampon gets stuck sometimes

If you have never had intercourse, this band of tissue could be the hymen, which is normal. However, if you don't feel that this is the cause, I would have an examination with your doctor to see what the issue is.

Re: Risk of early miscarriage

The risk of miscarriage is 1 in 5 before 12-14 weeks
Following a reassuring scan result, this risk falls to about 1:20
If you are worried, ask for a referall to an early pregnancy unit for a scan, which will show the heartbeat at around 6 weeks

Re: IVF GUIDELINES

It depends on the local guidelines in each area, and you can appeal these. The guidelines are made by the GP's in your area - a group called the 'PCT' but the NHS reorganisation may mean that this group may change its name soon to something like 'clinical commissioning group'. Your GP can help direc...

Re: heavy period, more painful than normal

You seem to be up to date with your smears and sensible - you are right that the issues are probably due to your Implanon, but if they continue I would seek referall.

Re: Irregular bleeding.

Mid cycle spotting is from the cervix. It can be normal, around the time of ovulation, and is often caused by being on the pill. It may be that with regular intercourse, your cervix is having contact bleeding.
This is a good time to have a smear and a swab for chlamydia as a precaution.

Re: White tissue like discharge

It could simply be thrush, but it also could be discharge from the cervix that is getting thicker as it dries out passing down the vagina, so if it doesnt respond to over the counter pessaries/tablets I would attend the GUM clinic for swabs.

Re: pcos and endometrosis

With PCOS the key is stable normal weight, which should favour regular ovulation. For the endometriosis, surgical treatment of minimal to mild disease should improve your fertility. For both conditions, the hormonal treatment such as the pill will stop you conceiving so the painkillers you are on ar...

Re: Menopause - is this normal?

Hi - this may be a "peri-menopausal" phenomenon as periods often get worse at this age. However, this warrants a biopsy of the womb lining, which is a simple and safe procedure. This is for two reasons - it is recommended at your age for heavy periods and also your weight puts you at risk ...

Re: Changes in cycle, severe pain and protruding left side

A pregnancy test will show positive at a very low level of pregnancy hormone hormone. A swelling on the left that is intermittent is probably your bowel, which can play up during your periods. Your cycle seems regular, and i assume you haven't come off or are on any hormonal contraception in the las...

Re: Early and heavy period

This may be a once off.
I would do a pregnancy test just in case and if it keeps happening, ask for a pelvic ultrasound.
The left side pain could be due to endometriosis, adenomyosis or internal scar tissue (adhesions) from your sections.
