Re: Rash in child

this is strange as cow's, goats and sheeps milk proteins are broadly the same. I would calm it with some weak steroid cream and then use regular moisturiser/barrier cream to keep it under control. Is her nose blocked??this could be the problem causing 'lip licking' eczema.

Re: Weaning and potential reaction

it doesn't sound like allergy- i would expect a reaction in just a few minutes, not hours later. If your baby didn't have eczema, this is even less likely. I would wait for things to settle and try again.

Re: Cradle cap at 4 year-old

hi
it is very unlikely to be food related if it just effects his scalp. Cradle co is also known as seborrhoiec dermatititis and if the GP creams aren't working I would request a consult with a dermatologist. Dietary manipulation is very unlikely to be worthwhile.

Re: Allergy/intolerance to wheat/gluten? Best course of acti

HI
IgG tests such as yorktest are not of proven validity for either food allergy or intolerance. I agree withthe other poster here that the priority is to ask your GP to look into testing for coeliac disease.

Re: Possible CMA... Help needed

Hi this could be a milk allergy although it would be unusual to get this so late on unless he has in fact been getting symtpoms to milk previously. May be worth a trial of calcium fortified oat milk in place of formula with milk and soy completely excluded (you are correct that soy can cross react w...

Re: Can't figure out what I'm allergic to

HI a lot of these symtpoms sound unlikely to be allergic in nature although it may be worth seeing a dietician to tie specific foods to specific problems. However, you may well have oral allergy syndrome (look it up on Wikipedia) causing the symtpoms of swelling you describe to orange - this is due ...

Re: Contact allergies on skin & Dairy Intolerance

Hi
the rice milk will not cause problems in such a short time. If he can eat the food in good quantity without problem, then that sounds much better!

Re: Contact allergies on skin & Dairy Intolerance

Hi these don't sound like contact allergies but instead immediate type food allergies - can I assume she has not eaten peanut or kiwi as I suspect she may have more severe reactions. She needs proper testing to clarify this.Unfortunately, kids with problems with one food allergy are more likely to h...

Re: ? Dairy intolerance

hi A general paediatrician is a good place to start as allergy is only a possible cause here. If you want to try something useful beforehand, rather than just cutting out milk (in all forms eg cheese /yoghurt) you could try a brief period of going both milk and soy free as many children with this ty...

Re: What am I allergic to

unfortunately, without getting properly tested, you are just going to be guessing and risk making changes that won't help whilst your symptoms persist. As previously post, antihistamines (go for long acting, non sedating) and nasal spray can help.
