Re: is it eczema?

Eczema is chronic, so if it's just one time and you didn't have eczema when young, then unlikely I guess :) You may want to google on armpit rash, as I've googled before, more related to the way shaving is done that may cause ingrown hair or applying antiperspirant right after shaving? Not much help...

Re: ANY HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi! Just attended a doc talk and it's suggested to work with doc to plan the treatment, i.e. moisturizing + topical treatment. For instance, they may advice a more frequent or higher potency cream when it's severe, which would be better than putting long duration of one that's of too low potency - f...

Re: Please Help

Hope you do get some answers after the allergy test; meanwhile, do hang on with moisturizing and it'd be good to choose one without the top allergens in the meantime.

Take care,
Mei

Re: What does redness mean?

So moisturizing is important, and do take a patch test to find out which ingredients in skincare you are allergic to and avoid these. The top allergens are: 1. perfume/fragrance 2. preservatives 3. parabens 4. propylene glycol 5. lanolin For the alternative names that these ingredients are also know...

Re: What does redness mean?

Hi, Moisturizing is important as the skin barrier is defective and needs protection. For the role that moisturizer plays, extracted from my blog an interview with Dr Bridgett below: As we understand last week, The Combined Approach includes topical treatment using emollient and steroid. Moisturizing...

Re: sleep deprived mum

Don't feel that you're neglected because the next appointment is with nurse :) Nurses do play a part in managing eczema. And wet wrap is useful and recommended in my local hospitals too. Have interviewed with a major supplier of wet wrap on my blog, extract below "Marcie Mom: For wet wrapping, ...

Re: Exzema controls my life.. Sadly

I've a baby with eczema, don't let it control your life - A psychiatrist interviewed on my blog has this message - "Stress can cause emotional upset – unhappiness and apprehensiveness for example – in anyone, young or old. In a child this may include tearfulness, and avoidance behaviour, just a...

Re: Crying from endless battle

Becky, so sorry to hear that; I'm a mom of an eczema baby and so far, she has responded well to one-time (only) oral steroid, steroid cream (not much need to be use), moisturizing (using physiogel AI) and oatmeal bath oil. Have you taken allergy tests? That can help eliminate some triggers, so that ...

Re: sleep deprived mum

Hi Anita, Is your little boy older than 6 months? You can bring him for an allergy test and that will help identify some triggers. Moisturizing is a must and it'd be good to see a doctor who specializes in children and dermatology/allergy/immunology. Some info on allergy tests posted on my blog: The...
