Re: 4 year old with regular daytime wetting
Hi Thank you for your message. The foreskin in young boys is very often slightly tight, and this is normal so I wouldn't be too concerned about this. Over ther next few years it should start to become less tight, and if it doesn't then I would recommend seeing your doctor again. In terms of his blad...

Re: urgency , 60 year old female no infection.
Hi The symptoms you describe are not uncommon, and may be the after-effect of a previous infection causing the urethra to be inflamed and the nerves in that area to be more sensitive, leading to the feeling of pain. Drinking plenty of water and emptying your bladder may help, as will simple anti-inf...

Re: Serious bouts of cystitis
Hi Many people suffer from recurrent bouts of cystitis, and before trying any further medicatons I would recommend an evaluation with a urologist to make sure there is no other physical reason for you to be having such frequent infections. Providing this is normal, then there are ways that you can r...

Re: Bladder control
Hi Thank you for your message. Urinary incontinence can worsen around the time of the menopause and this may be why you are suffering from these symptoms right now. Do you also have difficulties holding your bladder during the day? Reducing caffeine can often help, and practising bladder training wi...

Re: UTI symptoms
Hi Rebecca
I completely agree with Julie. As your symptoms are so frequent, I would definitely recommend seeing a Urologist to do some basic investigations. They will then be able to discuss things in more detail with you, and will be able to suggest ways to manage your symptoms.

Re: How to treat Overactive Bladder
Hi Sorry to hear you are having so much pain from your bladder. It may be that the cause is IC, but there may be other reasons for your symptoms too. Have you had a cystoscopy (telescopic examination of your bladder)? Unfortunately, a number of medications for pain can lead to bad side effects. Ther...

Re: urge incontanance
Hi It sounds as though your symptoms are really bothering you despite trying some medications. Has your doctor checked your urine sample to make sure there are no signs of infections or bleeding? It would also be helpful to make sure you are not drinking large amounts of caffeine or fizzy drinks as ...

Re: Stress in continence
Thank you for your message and it sounds like you are doing the right things. I'm glad to hear that the tvt has helped with some of your incontinence. Re: UTI’s
Dear Linda Thank you for your message. Recurrent UTIs are very common, and if this has been going on for a long time then I would recommend seeing a Urologist to do some basic tests to make sure there is no underlying reason for you to keep developing infections. After this, there are a number of wa...
