Sleep problem

I am 43 yo male and suffering a sleep problem. I wake up every night after about 3/4 hours sleep needing to pee. I’ve done a urine sample at gp and nothing seemed to show up. I ensure I don’t drink caffeine past 2pm and in the evening avoid alcohol and indeed any fluids after 7pm. Waking up I often ...

Prostate Cancer

I have intermediate prostate cancer (7 Gleeson). I know from the time my biopsies were done that my prostate size is 60mm x 50mm. I have had pain in my hands every time I urinate for about 4 years and now know why my urethra is being crushed and that reduces the flow, no idea why it hurts my hands. ...

Frequency of physical examinations

Three years ago I got diagnosed with having a slightly enlarged prostate because I was getting up numerous times in the night needing the loo. I am taking 400mg Tamsulosin daily.
My question is how often should I be physically examined by the doctor for this condition?
Thank you, Nigel

Sleep supplements

When I get into bed at night, I find it really difficult to switch my brain off and get into a restful state, ready for sleep, so it takes me a while to drift off. Are there any supplements/sleep aids that would help me fall asleep? Willing to try anything at this point. Thanks, Matt

Asking on behalf of my boyfriend...

I am emailing in for my boyfriend – we have a great sex life but sometimes he has problems getting and keeping an erection – he is 28… He doesn’t want to discuss or talk about it to me. What would you suggest I do or say to him? It's very difficult to know what the right thing is to do/say.

Prostate check

I am a very fit guy and never go to the doctors but now I am in my early 50s I feel that perhaps I should have my prostate checked – is this something that I just phone up and ask the doctor to do? (Simon)

Wife going through menopause

My wife has started to go through the menopause and finds it hard to sleep – either because she wakes up in the middle of the night for no reason and cant go back to sleep or she wakes up in a burning sweat. This is now beginning to effect my sleeping and also making me irritable. She has said she i...

Prostate problem?

I have no idea if this is a prostate problem and also don’t really want to see my doctor as I haven't been to see him in years and also wouldn’t know how to ask… but I have noticed over the last year when I urinate it is not the same – either when I want to go I find it difficult to go and then when...

ED

I have never been highly sexually active and now at the age of late 40’s I am finding it harder and harder to get a full erection and when I do it doesn’t last for long – is this an age related issue? Graham

Bladder

Is it normal for pee to be really slow, and to want to go to the toilet within 20 minutes of drinking a non sugar fizzy drink? Thank you. (Kevin)
