Re: METHOTREXATE

Hi Anna I am sorry that Dan is still having such a rough time. James did well on azathioprine but it did take a while to work well. The appointment with James's consultant went well. James has now been taken off the azathioprine as he had been on it in total for just over 6 months. His Consultant do...

Re: There is hope..........

Thank you for writing such a positive post! My son is 8 years old and suffers with severe atopic eczema. He now sees a fantastic specialist who also has a great team of specialist nurses. This has been the must important change in the treatment of my sons skin as they do think outside the box. This ...

Re: How does one subscribe to a thread?

When you are writing a post there is a box underneath that you can tick. It says notify me when a reply is posted. Mine comes ticked automatically so I must have set it up to do that but it is about 6 years ago that I joined so don't remember sorry.

Re: ECZEMA CURE

I don't believe there is a cure for eczema yet, hopefully their might be in the future. There are treatments that work well for some people and keep their eczema under control. I also believe that there is no single treatment that works well for everybody with eczema. I think people that advertise p...

Re: Help!! Please!!!

People can develop IGE mediated allergies at any point in their life. There have been many cases in the news where people have consumed nuts for years without an issue and then all of a sudden have a severe anaphylactic reaction. I am sure that the information you have given will truly help some peo...

Re: Help!! Please!!!

Thank you for your response. As I stated in my previous post my son is already egg free. I don't know if I am comfortable with restricting James's diet further without professional help. He has previously seen a Dietician and she was happy that James is meeting all his nutritional needs from his cur...

Re: Help!! Please!!!

WildingP - Can I ask what kind of diet you recommend in the treatment of Eczema? I consider my son's diet to pretty good. We cook everything from scratch and he is dairy, egg, nut and gluten free due to allergies. We don't use processed oils either. We use organic coconut oil and good quality olive ...

Re: Topical Steriod Addiction

Hi Kitty I am sorry that so many GP's and dermatologists have let you down regarding the treatment of your skin. To be honest James has seen a few different dermatologists and we were not particularly happy with any of them. Our GP openly admits that James's Eczema is beyond his knowledge of treatin...

Re: Topical Steriod Addiction

Hi Kitty Thank you for posting you story. I am so pleased that you are seeing good results from stopping topical steroids. I don't think topical steroids should be used long term and neither does my son's specialist but I do think they have their place in treating eczema if they are used correctly. ...
