i assume she is allergic only to cow's milk protein? Other proteins (plant and meat derived) should be tolerated

usually sunshine improves eczema, but not in everyone. Solar urticaria (hives to sun) is rare but can be a true nuisance. High dose antihistamines, high SPF and light protective clothes are important. A dermatology review might be needed

you are correct - he should see an allergist as his reactions are quite unpredictable. Pectin can be found in many different foods and medication; pectin is commercially extracted from citrus fruits. Gelatin allergy (oral) is very rare. Allergy to gelatin in medication - more common. Limonene causes...

if you have high total IgE it might be difficult to interpret specific IgEs to food for example egg Skin tests can be positive even if your child has been tolerating baked egg If you have hayfever you can have falsely positive skin and blood tests to nuts (with no reaction when you eat them) I sugge...

another visit to an NHS dietitan could be a good idea. We need to remember that many patients are positive on patch testing with nickel but are not necessarily allergic to this metal

Complete avoidance of nickel containing foods might be impossible and topical eczema treatment might be needed

scalp and face - seborrhoeic dermatitis? - you might want to try nizoral (antifungal) shampoo (hair and face) daily for a few weeks

other parts of your body - contact dermatitis could be the cause; however 'simple' eczema could be the case too

Total IgE can be high in smokers, patients with eczema or parasitic infections.
Specific IgE level can fluctute between tests (statistical variation)
