Re: hello

Hey Annie, I'm glad you're not experiencing any major ileostomy problems, though I can see how the leaking through the filter would be rather off-putting. It's not a Sensura-Mio by any chance..? Glad you've raised it with the manufacturer. That your surgeon thinks a reversal could be possible is gre...

Re: talking poo & constipation...

Unlike Lily, I would say yes I do find it difficult! Thankfully over the years I've learned to care a little less, be a little less shy and embarrassed; sometimes you need to talk about it more, learn to laugh about it, to dispel some of the fear and stigma associated with talking about such topics....

Re: hello

Hey Annie30, Great idea for the separate forum area. Sounds like quite an ordeal you went through, and a shock to the system to have a stoma. I also have an ileostomy (also since last year), not likely to be reversed. I started a blog to keep me feeling busy and useful during the time off, a bit on ...

Accepting Medication & Respecting Anxiety

Morning everyone, I was just wondering what experiences anyone has regarding medication for your anxiety - Do you take it, do you find it helps, are you embarrassed or ashamed to admit to taking it, how does it make you feel to be on it? I there's a tendency for medications to be given without the c...

Re: womens prison suicide death rate soars

I think it's sad to read but not too surprising that the situation continues to get worse. With budget and funding cuts, there's not enough staff or support for a lot of the complex needs in prison populations, for men or women. I think there's less press on women's prisons in general so less attent...

Re: CBD fixed my anxiety

There's quite a lot of debate over CBD and legalisation issues etc. It's not something I've ever tried, and I'd be quite weary of trying it until there's some proper research done on its effects, both short term and long term. I'm glad that you have found something that has been helpful to you thoug...

Re: dry back passage

Sorry this is a little late, I've just come on to this forum to take a look. You're right, there's not much said about this issue at all. You say there's pain when passing stools, but am I right in thinking you're not actually constipated? Dryness could lack of mucus perhaps, or irritation maybe cau...

Experience Of Male Gynaecologists?

Morning all, I thought I'd just put this out there and see what experience others have had when it comes to gynaecologists. Everyone knows it can be so difficult to get the referral you need, and then there's usually a lengthy wait to see someone, so you can't get any say in who you see on the NHS. ...

Re: Psychological Impact of Scarring

Hi Joh, I just wanted to let you know you're not alone in how you're feeling. I find there's a lot of pressure to be like this warrior person, someone who can say they're proud and stronger for their experiences, scars included. But it's difficult. Not everyone has the same frame of mind or personal...

I learned what FOMO meant from elsewhere too (makes me feel old, not knowing the lingo!)
