Re: Spondylosis, nerve damage? Hellish pain for years
Hi,
Your GP should be able to explain most of your questions. Gabapentin takes time to work but works on a different pain pathway to anti inflammatories or opiate medication.
It is a very common drug used in pain control.
I hope it will give you some benefit
Hope this helps

Hi,
it is likely it is mechanical if there is no pain or swelling.
There is probably nothing to worry about as your GP has stated.
Work on strengthening your quadriceps muscles and if needed have a review with a physiotherapists to check your biomechanics.
Hope this helps

Tracy,
have you tried joint injections? These may help and maybe worth discussing with your Rheumatologist regarding the suitability of such a treatment for you - however this is not a cure

Hi,
Yes it is common to see these drugs lose its effect after several years of treatment.
If your joint are worse you should contact your Rheumatology team fro review and possible change in medication.
hope that helps

Re: How can I tell which pain is my arthritis or my fibro?
Daisy,
Psoriatic Arthritis is an inflammatory condition associated with joint swelling, joint stiffness (early morning) and joint pain.
Fibromyalgia is more of a chronic pain and fatigue issue.
Methotrexate will only help the Psoriatic Arthritis.
Hope this helps explain things
