Re: Hello :)
Hi Missfox, Where are you based? Maybe you can find a local support group where you can meet up with others? I'm starting a support group, but I live in Singapore - don't suppose you are near me? :) Being in a community is great, but I do agree that on many levels, we have to manage our own eczema a...

Re: Effort = Results
Whichever lotion/cream we choose, do a patch test on a small area of skin first - Allergens can be both from chemicals/ natural ingredients. Also choose from established company, one that invest in its ingredients, process and trials. Limit the number of brands you use to avoid cross-reactivity. Whe...

Re: Weak Hair
Hi! I've a baby with eczema and read quite a lot, though I've not come across weak hair. I know hair needs iron and Vit B12. Any food that you're excluding from your child's diet because of eczema? Mine doesn't drink milk nor eats meat (she hates the taste), so she's not growing very tall. She has o...

Re: New User with 2 years old and severe eczema!!
Hi, Which country are you in? I'm in Singapore and can't help with doctors recommendation but I feel it's best to see experienced doctors in hospitals, that see children and with a specialization in either allergy/dermatology/immunology. I don't recommend GPs or PDs who are not specialised, as they ...

Re: 2 year old with eczema
Oh dear, I can identify with you as I went through a very tiring period when my baby was 2 weeks to a year old. My baby has reflux and sleeps on tummy too, but I don't think there's scientific relation to eczema. Before you have an appointment at hospital with child dermatologist/allergist/immunolog...

Re: He's driving me crazy scratching
Oh dear, sorry to hear that. Is he moisturizing? I use about 500ml on my baby, per week. So, it's sometimes not a matter of how many creams you tried (in fact, trying more brands means higher chance of cross-allergic, minimizing ingredients and brands is good practice) but whether you consistently a...

Re: back from Brazil and sick again
Hi Stephanie,
So sorry to hear that! I can only think of pollen and maybe you can take an allergy test to see if there's any trigger that may have been absent in Brazil.
Take care,
Mei

Re: sunscreens
Hi! I use Cetaphil, so far no problem. I've written a post on sunscreen, and I extract some of what's relevant for you below: Sunscreen lotion are generally divided into two types – those that are chemical absorbers and those that are physical reflectors. Chemical absorbers penetrate the skin more a...

Re: please help me find a treatment for my partner
Hi Little Chunk, There's so much you've written that makes sense for your partner and I'm so sorry he's not heeding much of it.. Moisturizing, definitely important Steroid, should not be the only thing he does - steroid reduces inflammatory cells but will not help improve the skin Bacteria, can use ...

Re: Eczema and sleep - how do you behave?
Green Cyber Mummy, I totally know what you're talking about! I co-sleep and it helps with quickly putting lotion on my baby when she started scratching, or hold her hand and she'd fall back asleep. I can sleep very well, i.e. if she wakes up, I know; once she falls back into sleep, I can asap also z...
