Re: Moisturisers and Emollients

Have you seen a dermatologist or just your GP. It sounds like you need more help. Have you tried wet wrapping?

Re: Azathioprine (Imuran)

Sorry I have never come across this. I just wanted to wish you well in your choices. We are just at the top of the scale for steroids and know how tough that has been. Good luck in your research. It is tough but quality of life is important. :)

My 3 yr old suffers greatly. My 1 yr old is under control. The difference is she is allergic to milk so i...

Re: Doesn't scratching feel too good to give up?

I'm glad you have such a positive attitude. We find Eczema depressing! When I first read your posting I thought you must be mad. Now I realise you have found a positive place to be within yourself. Way to go!! :)

Re: Moisturisers and Emollients

We have had repeated problems with Hydromol Ointment. We use it when my son's eczema is in flare up so the skin is sensitive and painful. The problem is from the manufacturing process which leaves cristals in the ointment which feel like anything from fine sand to course grit. The last thing you wan...

Re: Children and eczema

I wet wrap my sons hands in mittens which have the thumbs out. A must for a thumb sucker!! To keep them on I put dressing tape round the wrists which limits how often I have to reapply them through the night. If his thumbs are bad then I use a full cotton glove on alternate hands alternate nights, h...

Re: Face eczema

My 3 year old son suffers greatly with a very sore red swollen face. Eumovate helps but he is on daily antihistamine prescribed by the hopital to try to control them.

He has certaily got worse since the pollen counts have gone up

Might be something to ask about.
