Re: METHOTREXATE

I understand the issues around taking Prednisolone ( my sister is a physio) but the Methotrexate takes a long time to work and after 6 months failed on ciclosporin we have been desperate to get through each day. The upshot of todays appointment is Dan has agreed to have the Methotrexate by injection...

Re: METHOTREXATE

Hello Mei & Kelly Dan is struggling but has managed to remain off antibiotics, though with the warm weather he is finding night times very difficult. He is ok while they have him on Prednisolone with the Methotrexate but as soon as that stops he flares again. He is begging for Prednisolone at ni...

Re: Help!! Please!!!

I totally agree with Kelly, having 2 children that have had true food allergy responses to foods is a nightmare and not something to be taken lightly. A lot of people blame dairy and certain foods for eczema but as both my babies were breast fed when they developed eczema I cannot agree with this. M...

Re: METHOTREXATE

Hi Kelly Dans hands improved but generally he's not doing as well as expected. 3 weeks ago the dose of Methotrexate was increased but still he is struggling and with the first sign of the sun he has flared. We were in hospital for the day 3 weeks ago as he had a sore throat and they had to ensure hi...

Re: METHOTREXATE

Hi Kelly

Dan is on antibiotics again as his hands are all infected, it is very painful and he is very itchy at night still. School have been understanding and got him a laptop to use in the classroom which he finds a great help.

Re: METHOTREXATE

Hi Kelly Control in school is impossible and we are supposed to allow them to follow a normal life, yet tonight Dan has been up sobbing and really itchy and in a lot of distress as he is so inflammed after a play session at soft play. He got really hot whilst having such a good time, as a parent wha...

Re: Aloe Vera Products

I tried it on my son years ago, it was very expensive and made no difference to the prescription cream we were using so wasn't worth it. As a control I used it on one leg and his normal creams on the other leg, so it was clear having a controlled study that it was not effective for him.

Re: METHOTREXATE

Hi Kelly Dan started the Methotrexate at the start of December so he is fed up now no signs of working. He has a sore throat and glands overnight so it is off to the GP for antibiotics tonight, at least he has managed a few weeks without them. We are struggling as he uses Hydromol and it has been ou...
