Re: Clicky shoulder

The clicking noises you are hearing are most likely the result of the tendons of your muscles rubbing over different bones in your shoulders or ribs. The motion of your shoulder is very complex and has many different muscles that make it function properly. The fact that it's only one shoulder shows ...

Re: Rotator cuff pain

If you had damaged your rotator cuff you would remember doing it. My friend had surgery to repair hers 8 weeks ago and she is still suffering, and she injured her shoulder last September by falling and dislocating it. It needs to be seen by a specialist Dr before any sort of accurate diagnosis can b...

Re: Overweight and back pain

Take it easy. Do brisk walking and other exercises that won't pound your back and joints, until you've lost about 10-30 pounds. Yes. Weight can cause back pain.

Re: Sacroiliac pain

Initial treatment recommendations will typically include use of ice or cold packs, applied in 15 to 20 minute intervals as needed to reduce inflammation in the area, along with rest to reduce irritation. Depending on the duration of sharp, intense pain, ice can be continued anywhere between 2 days t...

Re: chronic backache after surgery

Stretching the nerve root while the body is healing (scarring in) after back surgery can help limit epidural fibrosis from becoming a clinical problem. Most scar tissue forms within the first 6 to 12 weeks after back surgery. The theory is that if the nerve is kept mobile while the wound heals, the ...

Re: Pelvic Pain

If it has been going on this long, there is no reason to go to the ER until you are absolutely unable to get in to see an OB/GYN or PCP. If neither are a soon option, I would go to the ER during the day or afternoon (you get better service at this time). A cyst could cause this much pain, they are t...

Re: Need some advice on body aching

The rain and cool weather is a killer for people with arthritis. You may have it and not know it. A lot of times, if you sleep too much you'll feel tired. Your body doesn't need 10 hours of sleep. Assuming you're an adult, you only need about 7. Having a low immune system can make you feel tired and...

Re: Visual Acuity

Especially for such a small amount of myopia, uncorrected visual acuity is a meaningless measure. It will mostly measure how well you squint. Squinting improves your visual acuity because of an optical effect called the pinhole effect. If you need only half a diopter of correction, you could probabl...

Re: Impacted ear wax

If over the counter wax removers don't work then syringing by the doctor is necessary. It's not a pleasant experience. I've had this done many times. It's not painful, but is disorienting. Q-tips are bad news, as your son has discovered! They just compact the wax. Olive oil just doesn't work, I've d...

Re: Jaw Pain

I had the exacts same problem but i just kept quiet about it, after a while it just stopped, its happened twice so far in my life time. I think it has something to do with a muscle spasm, but it should resolve itself just try not to force it, its annoying but eventually it eases off.
