Re: new to this..... 7 yr old with eczema/allergies
Hi Glace, I've a baby with eczema but tested no allergy, based on a skin prick test. It's true that skin prick test/allergy test are not 100% accurate, generally, the likelihood of being tested positive to certain food but actually not allergic to it is higher than the other way round. I've asked a ...

Re: Food Allergies andEczema
So good to hear! Allergy testing can be done again as kids' immune system changes. I've asked a pediatrician that specializes in allergy questions on allergy test, see link below: http://eczemablues.com/2012/05/friday-dr-qa-with-dr-liew-allergy-tests/ Next friday Q&A will cover elimination diet,...

Re: Eczema is a digestive disorder not a skin problem
Oh dear, let me correct myself - eczema is caused by many factors and when I said it's a skin issue, it's to highlight that eczema shouldn't be viewed as a condition that can be solved just by food. Let me quote the doctor's reply on the upcoming Q&A (not yet posted on my blog), so that I don't ...

Re: hi, new to forum, big eczema sufferer
Hi! Sorry to hear that you haven't found a good doctor; I haven't seen that many eczema skin since I've only a toddler with eczema. But it actually doesn't look quite like my girl's eczema; have you done any allergy test? Do check out a few posts on skin prick test and comment if you've taken one :)...

Re: Wetwraping and eczema suits advice please
Hi! I've also read that with respect to steroid cream application, you've got to continue for few days even after the skin appears ok. It's because the layer deeper in the skin hasn't been treated yet. Not sure how to explain it well because the article I've read is pretty complicated but the takeaw...

Re: Could it be the Climate?
Hi Gatorgirl, Climate does affect people's skin but eczema is seldom due to just one factor; have you gone for any allergy test? Maybe you can uncover more e.g. allergy to certain type of pollen. I've a baby with eczema, when she was a baby (now a toddler), her eczema was pretty bad and she had a on...

Re: anybody tried goats milk soap/cream
Hi! Cow's milk and goat's milk are cross-reactive, meaning highly possible if allergic to one, will be to the other. I don't know about it being applied on skin, but do read labels for top allergens, you can refer to this post http://eczemablues.com/2012/02/sensitive-skin-product-series-what-ingredi...

Re: Hi & update
Hi! So good to hear of moms being so proactive and taking so much care into watching out for trigger. My baby has eczema from 2 weeks old but thankfully no allergies. Still on and off, but nothing boiling or hot red type.. Moisturizing is key, and treating with steroid cream under prescription is ok...

Re: Eczema is a digestive disorder not a skin problem
Hi! I'm interviewing a pediatrician who specialised in allergy and asked this question - the answer is eczema is a skin problem, and not a food problem. It's wise not to go to extreme measures when addressing food allergies. His answer will be published on my blog in May, at http://eczemablues.com M...

Re: WILL kinetico water softener cure My eczema Lets SEE?
Thanks Markoos for sharing the link - softened water has been shown in the trial by Prof Hwel Williams that there's no difference in the skin of those children whose homes are fitted with the softener and those without. The trial is conducted independently, though a company supplied the softeners. T...
