Dry skin, spots and scarring

I am 46 years old. My skin is becoming drier, but I still have spots. The spots do eventually go, but leave me with scars no matter how small the spot was. I don't know what product to use to give me the hydration I need without overloading my spot prone skin. Also, suggestions for the scarring would be welcome.

Re: Dry skin, spots and scarring

This sounds like adult acne, which many women approaching the menopause suffer from. It is thought to be a result of hormonal changes (as is dry skin). If the spots are resulting in scarring, I would strongly recommend that your GP refers you to a Dermatologist for treatment (which will comprise of medication as well as topical treatment) to prevent further scarring. In the meantime, I would use a gentle over the counter face cream and wash designed for acne-prone skin. These should be fragrance-free.

I hope that this helps
