Dry, itching skin going silvery and scaly

For the coldest months of the year I have itchy red skin on my wrists and hands, sometimes the back of my arms below my elbows are affected too . The reddened skin will then turn silvery and ‘scaly’ on my wrists and on the back of my arms. Applying copious amounts of creams to moisturise the skin ,which could be painful and burn, has little effect . Any ideas or advice please ?

Re: Dry, itching skin going silvery and scaly

Thank you.

it sounds like psoriasis. It might be a good idea to see your gp or a dermatolgist.

I hope this is helpful.
