IBS changes

recently my IBS has took a new turn. my pain has significantly increased on the right side of my abdomen. this happens mainly when I have a very loose motion and has lasted for 2 weeks. I was admitted to hospital for a scan but nothing showed up. I was given medication to manage this, it affected my ability to work. no further investigation was taken. could there be more to this and if so what can be done next or is medication the best route.

Re: IBS changes

Hi japelrum6

IBS symptoms can vary over time. But during my work as an advisor for the IBS Network, I always recommend that any changes to your usual symptoms of IBS should be investigated by your doctor. If your recent treatment has not been effective in helping your symptoms, I would advise you to go back to your GP and ask what further treatments can be tried as there is a number which can be helpful. Perhaps having a look here can provide other ideas to consider before you go back.

I hope this helps.
