Re: Trapped nerve

Hi Karen,

A ‘trapped nerve’ is a term often used to cover a variety of painful conditions. In my experience as an osteopath, when clients present to my clinic with symptoms that they refer to as a trapped nerve, the pain often originates from a muscle spasm, ligament issue or joint irritation. Without a little more information it is difficult to determine what exactly is causing your individual symptoms.

If you were to consult an osteopath, they would conduct a comprehensive examination to determine the cause of your pain and would be able to provide advice and treatment accordingly. Clients seek osteopathic care for conditions associated with the muscles, bones, joints and associated tissues throughout the body, and there is good evidence to suggest that osteopathic practice can help with neck pain.
