I find it hard to exercise with the pain from my hidradenitis suppurativa, for example, rubbing from the sores on my thighs. Do you have any tips on how to keep weight off?
Thank you, Anne

I am so sorry to hear about your problem Anne.

You need a good painkillers! Have you discuss this with your GP? You probably need a regular full dose paracetamol plus if there are no contraindications diclofenac and possibly opioids such as tramadol.

I hope this is helpful.

Very difficult problem, but one which many HS sufferers have. Its a catch 22 that you want to lose weight but can't exercise because of the HS.

Focus on calorie reduction for weight loss remembering that you can lose weight more effectively by calorie reduction than by increasing exercise.

Consider swimming. Many HS sufferers do not like to swim, but if you are able to cover the area with waterproof dressings and use a bathing suit over these, then swimming is a good option.
