Type 2 diabetes & UTI's

I’ve recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and heard that I might get frequent UTI’s. What can I do to stop this from happening?

Re: Type 2 diabetes & UTI's

The risk of UTIs in Diabetes is due to the presence of sugar in the urine, which usually only occurs when your blood sugar is above the normal range. Good control of your Type 2 Diabetes through the measures adopted by your GP will minimise the risk of you developing a UTI together with the usual advice with regards to maintaining a good fluid intake to encourage regular passing of urine.
