Diabetes & UTI's

I suffer from diabetes and have started getting recurrent UTI's. Is there a link between the 2 and if so can I do anything to help prevent this happening so often?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Beth

Re: Diabetes & UTI's

HI, yes there is a strong link with diabetes. The best prevention is to have very good diabetic control and prevent excess sugars building up in your urine - the sugar would be a good breeding ground for the bugs that cause the UTIs. Avoiding dehydration will also help.
