Loss of sexual desire

So I'll start by saying I'll be turning 40 in a week. My partner and I have been together for 10yrs. As of the last few years my sexual appetite has declined significatly, to currently almost non existent. I find myself not in the mood, ever. I dont masturbate at all, open does nothing now, I'm just not in the mood. Is something wrong with me? Is this normal for someone my age? Should I see a doctor? Any advice please.

Re: Loss of sexual desire

Hi Long_blonde,

Thank you for posting on the forum. Sorry to hear that you are suffering a loss of libido. Unfortunately we are unable to give out specific medical advice here but would always suggest you go and see your GP if this is continues to worry you.

Given your age you may wish to re-post your question in the menopause forum which includes peri-menopause. Other members may be experiencing similar symptoms and can hopefully share advice.

Please find link to the menopause forum here:

Happy 40th Birthday for next week! :)
