Sharp Pain During Sex

I was with my husband a few days ago when I felt a sharp stabbing pain on my right side (internally). It knocked the wond out of me it was so painful.

Now it's a few days later and I still have pain in that location (not as painful) it feels like a pulled muscle or a bad cramp. I saw my OB for my yearly exam (did not mention the pain- I know I should be have) but there was nothing abnormal looking and when he pushed it didn't hurt.

What did I do?

I've had similar pain before each time something was inserted/sexual act.

Re: Sharp Pain During Sex

Hello - sorry to hear of this pain. We will be running a gynae clinic in March - where you can certainly post a question to our expert but I certainly hope you can get it sorted out long before then. If you type in sexual intercourse and pain into our search function on talkhealth - you will find a mix of other members concerns and some previous information on it from our experts.

From Mr Stergios (Stelios) Doumouchtsis, MSc MPH PhD MRCOG, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Subspecialist Urogynaecologist from one of our clinics:

It is important to exclude bacterial infection and anatomical causes.
Some agents used for lubrication may cause more discomfort.
If the symptoms persist despite use of appropriate lubrication, a gynaecological assessment may be indicated.

Alternatively, all other major health websites offer similar advice.

I hope this helps.

Re: Sharp Pain During Sex

Looks like you need to consult a health expert in sexuality. It's usually normal for a woman to experience pain in abdomen however depending on the situation, it may be worse. Its advisable that you take proper medication and pills and if needed supplements.
