Re: bad period pain
Hi sashacrl,
Welcome to TalkHealth. I really feel for you and understand how annoying, tiring and uncomfortable period pain can be. When I was in my late teens and early 20s the pain was unbearable - and like you, I'd have to settle for taking ibuprofen and paracetamol together (with little relief).
I was given a top bit of advice which I initially laughed at - and even let out a huge sigh when it was thrown my way. One of the best ways to relieve the pain is to move around more, improving blood circulation, and make every effort not to sit in the same position for too long.
Keep drinking lots of water and keep a hot water bottle on standby to help with the cramps.

Re: bad period pain
Hi,
I have the same issue. I get really strong pain during some of my periods, sometimes even before it starts. It gets so bad that I can't even move, just curl up in embryo pose. Definitely a 12 on a 10 scale. But doctors are not helpful at all, most just look at me without any empathy and says take painkillers... They are not even trying to find the cause.
The best (strong enough) painkiller I found so far is called Cataflam which is a diclofenac based painkiller. But you have to take it in time, ie before the pain gets too strong. It takes about 20-30 minutes for me to start feeling the effect.
I think Ibuprofen and Paracetamol are useless for period pain, so if you have nothing better than take a shot of alcohol instead, that still works better.
