Experience Of Male Gynaecologists?

Morning all,

I thought I'd just put this out there and see what experience others have had when it comes to gynaecologists. Everyone knows it can be so difficult to get the referral you need, and then there's usually a lengthy wait to see someone, so you can't get any say in who you see on the NHS. I'm wondering how many women have seen a male gynaecologist, and what their experience has been of how effective they have been, whether they listen and show understanding? I did a blog post recently on this http://invisiblyme.com/2016/10/16/ladie ... gist-rant/ I've been saddened, though not overly surprised, to find many women are struggling to get the help they need because they are either not taken seriously, or are spoken to in a way that shows a lack of understanding or empathy for their symptoms.

Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with gynaecologists, especially of the male variety?

Re: Experience Of Male Gynaecologists?

I had an emergency caesarean in 1982 which saved my life and certainly my sons due to
sudden high blood pressure my bladder was never the same after with continence albeit
not that serious until I reached menopause when it became a serious problem
When I finally got to see the head gynaecologist he was marvellous and he was doing a
study into women of the 80s this had happened to I was told it would only last several years a
TVT mine is still going strong 8 years on a proper gentlemen when I got to his door .
