Pmdd and treatment

Hello I am looking for anyone's experiences with PMDD. I have had PMDD for the last two years and didn't really realize that was going on until about a year ago. I am on the birth control pill and citalopram. At first it really helped but as the months has gone on all of my symptoms have come back with a vengeance. I'm to the point to where something really needs to be done and I'm curious if a hysterectomy is the answer. If you have PMDD and had a hysterectomy did it help? What were the after effects? Is it worth it? Any and all opinions are welcome.

Hi chocmid08,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the talkhealth forums!

We would suggested have a discussion around this with your GP or gynaecologist. They should be able to provide you with information and advice on treatments available to you.

Do let us know how you get on.

Thanks,

When I was asking about being diagnosed they informed me that mood stabilizers would be prescribed to me.

Re: Pmdd and treatment

Hi,
You need to consult with an experienced gynecologist regarding the problem. She will give you the best advice and treatment regarding the same.
Thanks.
